Coming home from a festive weekend spent with good friends, as I often do, I drove by the beach and was reminded again of why I love the beauty of Santa Cruz. This is a completely un-altered sunset photo, taken earlier today.
(Well I may have straightened the horizon as I seem to hold the camera crooked sometimes...) Since I live near the beach, I often drive by on my way home. Most days are merely beautiful. Some days are overcast or raining. And then there are sunsets like that one! One like that happens only a few times a year. I was lucky.

Next time I'll try with a tripod if I can, and sweep from left to right *and* from right to left, in an effort to even out the lighting.
It truly was a beautiful moment. Practically everone at the beach had their cameras out!
