Old Tractor in its shed

A photograph of an antique iron wheeled tractor in it's shed.

The gruff rancher, former dairy man that owned this, and turned down offers to harvest his oaks for timber, also turned down offers from UCD to have this tractor restored, or so he told me. I was never clear why he didn't take them up on the offer. I can see old Herman now, in his truck cab with his winchester 30-30 on the dash. He used it on any coyotes that got in his sights. In the shed pictured here, were a number of coyote skins hanging from the rafters. He was a firm believer that the scent of their deceased brethren encouraged the remaining coyotes to keep their distance...

In early 2006 the shed fell down. The Tractor remains.
